The phone is staying where it is for now... If that changes, I'll let you know.

They still haven't contacted me about the 4 door 325i. Its ok, I completely understand with the whole moving process and stuff. That soy sauce package probably came from Hunan-Wok just ~1.5/2 Miles down the road. Any new updates?

Not much to update on either front. I mentioned to the guy that I knew a local enthusiast that would be interested in the car. Right now he's a bit distracted with some issues up here in VT.

I haven't had much time to work more on the IX. I'm close to having the carpet out to clean, and investigate where the water is getting in.

A friend of mine that I race with owns a shop about an hour from here. I might just bite the bullet and bring the car up to him. I don't have a heated garage, so progress will be very slow if I plug away at it myself.

IX now possibly available for sale

I hooked up E30NJ with the guy I got the IX from. Hopefully he'll get his free project E30 soon!

No update on the IX. It's actually still on the trailer, now covered in a blanket of snow.

I won't have any time in the near term to do anything with this car. A few folks have PMed me about the mudflaps and seats. I'm not particularly interested in parting the car, but could be convinced to sell it whole. I don't know anything more about the car than what I've shared in this thread. And I'm not familiar with E30IX values, especially for a car that has been sitting for +/- 14 years.

That being said, I may have the opportunity to pick up an 87 Audi 4000 10v turbo locally that's running and driving. It would make a perfect winter beater/ice race car. However, the wife just might kill me if I park another car in our driveway at this point, and selling the IX would help fund the 4000 turbo.

If anyone's interested in the car, send me a PM. I'm open to reasonable offers and would consider delivery within a few hundred miles for minor compensation/fuel costs. After all, it's already on a trailer!

I bet you would! I could sell off a few parts and scrap the rest for more than $1K easily. But that would be a crying shame to do that to this car.

It's not costing me anything to keep it, and if I don't sell it, I'll try to get it on the road this spring/summer.

                        !
my suggestion would be to keep and fix the IX for sure over a rattly overprice VW (audi)4000 ,IX AWD is much better and reliable and a 1000X better chassis (night and day difference)! there a reason you dont see many 4000's on the road.......

Ouch. Sorry to see that. We lost a few trees here, luckily only damage to power lines and our deck.

Got the car running last week and did the jack test, which passed! The fuel pump was shot, so we replaced that. Now that it's running I just ordered a ton of parts: timing belt kit, front & rear brake kit, belts, filters etc...

After that, I'll need to figure out the power steering leak (I didn't want to run the engine for more than a minute before replacing the timing belt), replace missing exhaust, and get tires that aren't dry rotted...

With a lot of luck it might be on the road while we still have snow on the ground!

Glad you're getting that 4-door E30. I hope it's not as moldy and stinky as my interior!
