    Track prep my iX

Crazy times, I went from potentially selling my iX to track day with it....

So I signed up for a track day at the end of the month. I wouldn't mind taking my E46 325iT, but it's an automagic. I think it's the iX's time to do what it does best. My goal is to keep up with or beat the 2 Stock FRS's that are going with me.

    About the car
    Koni Adjustables and HR springs.
Diff and tranny fluids were done approx 3 years ago
Front DF spacer done by RyanGMW
    19# injectors, miller MAF
    new cat
stock wheels w/ 225/50/15's in decent shape
Radiator is older but doesn't appear to be in bad shape.
Thermostat, temp sensors and everything else are recent (in the last 2 years).
Oil will be done before hand.

What brakes do you guys recommend? I can likely only afford pads for the time being, but they're due for replacement.

anything else you guys can think of? things I should look for before I go?

I'll be sure to come back w/ video when I'm done :)

you'll want some race pads. I don't know what the hot race pads are these days though. The rest of the car sounds fine, mostly you'll want to be sure all maintenance is up to date. brakes are what will really help you keep up with those other cars, which will be tough since they have similar power/weight ratios.

check all oil levels from diff, TC and tranny. I would even change engine oils.

Shocks and springs installed. HOLY CRAP what an improvement over the ancient stock ones. I think it just highlights my need for trailing arm and subframe bushings, though. Atleast there's no rubbing on the 225/50/15's I'm running.

Hawk HPS brakes installed, too. I think it's time to invest in brake lines to replace my old stockers. Pedal is squishy, but better. Flush is taking place this weekend.

Still have poly sway bar bushings to put in. CAB's are factory (not solid) but only a year or two old. Not gonna spend the money on solids yet.

Oil temp sensor was installed as well.

        Crossing my fingers! :)

Where/when is the track day? Sonoma? I've been wanting to check these out.

I'd recommend front and rear strut bars. Also try a 19mm rear sway bar. If you have the time/money swap all the rubber bushing to a hardish duro poly, 75d is what I'm running and they feel amazing compared to stock. Some RTA adjustment tabs are a great improvement too.

I'm sorry you went with Hawk HPS. they're not good at all for the track. :(

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Yeah I would change the oil before the track day... Clean air filter, some nice gas, pads and you're off to the races!

Wouldn't run the HPS if you plan to attempt to drive hard.

PFC 08's are supposed to be pretty good weekend track pads.
