I think mine is pretty light, but the M50 pump pressure might be different?

Its also heavier than the RWD because the car is heavy - like almost as heavy as a 1970 Ford Mustang.

it's like 150lbs heavier.. it's not really that much of a difference. half of that extra weight is in the center of the car and all of it is low to the ground.

this may be true to some extent but as mentioned earlier, i agree that it is probably more a function of the geometry. a few years ago, my son and i bought an ix in south carolina and drove it back to texas with no p.s.. that really sucked!

Yea and the 325i is only about 150 pounds heavier than a 318i - drastic difference in feel though! Bottom line is that a 325iX has a drastically "different" steering "feel" compared to the RWD cars. Whether you call it heavy, different geometry or whatever, it is very different.

a 318is is a lot more than 150lbs lighter. also, those 70's mustangs are like 3500lbs. hyperbole much?

Good point - I mentioned the 318i being lighter than the 325i because a 318i steering feels much lighter than a 325i...and the 325iX feels heavier than the 325i... M10 318i cars were super light for sure.! I brought up the 70 Mustang because it is somewhat like an E30 in respect to the engines that one might find there. I bet a big block 427 felt "heavier" that a dink straight six. The spec I looked up was 3,150 - likely a straight six version.

So as far as exaggeration for amusement goes - lets take a small block Chevy long block (or 300 lbs. of sand bags if that makes one feel better distributed nicely of course) and put it in the front of an m10 318i and see if the steering feels heavy. Hyperbole makes me LOL
