11" is probably too low. They must have welded the perches 3" lower than stock. You could run longer springs which could raise it up an inch.

Are you sure the front is 11"? I would check that the collars are really at the top. There should be plenty of room to move it up..

The PO put Ground Control equipment (and cut and welded the housings) on my 88 iX - ride height is 11 inches in the front, and I believe this is the highest it can be set. How low is too low with regard to CV damage? I realize there isn't an absolute answer to this, but I am wondering how best to set this up if

    a) I want another 150-200K out of the car (currently 190K)
    b) don't want to buy axles every year or 2

If this is too low, what is the most expedient way to raise it? I am guessing the best answer for a long life for the car (as long as there is little rust) is new housings and struts on the front, correct? Any less expensive way to deal with it and get a foundational, long-term fix?

I agree about the ET24....my ACS's are that offset (15x7), and a just a hair too far imo.
FWIW, the BBS/Modas I use are 16 x 7/ET35 and seem perfect for me (see my pic). Tuck in nice and clean w/ no clearance issues.

I keep thinking of raising mine up 1/2" to 3/4". my 300,000 mile CV shafts don't like reversing with the wheel turned all the way to the right. :p
Stock housings. Shortened the bump stops. Yup, the CV's are strained. Relatively new mod so I have no idea how they will last. So far, so good. Believe it or not, travel has not been a problem so far. Roads in Summit County, CO. are far from perfect and not seeing (and feeling) any problems yet except when I miss the all too often pot holes. It's a hard hit when I do. I'm more concerned about how long the rear tires will last w/the excessive camber. Correction kit for both rear camber and toe on the way.

thanks man. yup standard ET28 alpinas. I think the offset is much better on the iX than on the RWD one. Absolutely no tire rub even w/ two bodies in the rear (205/50/16).
