I have a question I was hoping you could help me out with. I am looking to track and autox my car about 5 times in total this year. Right now I have Girling brakes and am wondering if there are any modifications you would do to the or would you recommend the Massive street kit? The car is a 1988 325IX and I do drive it all year long including spirited driving in the snow. I need rotors and was not sure whether to go with slotted brakes and rebuild the caliper or a bbk which I wasn't sure if it was good for salt and snow.An info will help. Thanks

I'm going to dissent. The stock brake are minimally adequate - but the ix is heavier and the driving line is different.
A BBK will improve the thermal efficiency as well as being lighter - and a reduction in unsprung weight would be really helpful on an ix (the strut tubes are HEAVY).
If you have the means, a BBK has some serious benefits, the only drawback is money (and I'm not talking about a Frankenstein kit that uses heavy cast parts from other cars).
Consumables can be cheaper as well - if you're tracking it more than once a year, you're not going to want to use your street pads because you will destroy them in short order.

I guess I should add I'm basing my opinion off of a 325i that I just did a full brake overhaul on (Calipers, Rotors, Hawk Pads, SS Brake Lines, 25mm Master Cylinder) and I'm super impressed with it. I will be doing a BBK on the ix like Nando said, but I'm also planning on upping the power. My Garage
