    IX bumper question

    Good day R3v,

I am pretty sure this has been asked and answered before, if so, please guide me to the right place. I just want to confirm that bumpers from a '89-'91 325i coupe will fit on a '88 325iX coupe? And if so, what is needed to make it a perfect fit?

I appreciate the responses, thanks in advance!

They'll swap over no problem. You just need all the plastic bumper hardware.

there's no ix specific bumpers. the only difference are early/late. 88 was a transition year but the plastics bolt on just fine.

              Comprehensive modification guide here:

I believe front bumper shocks can be retained, rears are different going from aluminum to plastic. Looks like the rear in general requires a bit of modification for good fitment

That is an early body conversion guide. the '88 is a facelift model with transition year bumpers. you don't have to modify the bumpers for them to fit.
