    325iX oil pump

Hi I'm looking for a measurement for the depth of an iX oil pump below the base of the block compared to a standard rwd oil pump. I'm thinking of using one in my rwd E30 rally car so I can modify the sump to get more ground clearance at the front. I know that the iX "distributor" drive shaft is shorter but I don't have an iX pump to do the comparison myself. Thanks

I thought the run in the opposite direction as well? I have a block in my basement, what do I need to do to take the measurement? I'm not willing to remove the oil pan.

I think the pick-up is in the rear section of the pan on an iX - supply via a long tube. Been a couple of years since I had one apart.

Do we know why the iX oil pump spins reverse of the RWD M20?

Because it's behind the transfer shaft instead of in front of it.

I have an iX oil pump sitting in my garage. Would a measurement help?
