I blew my front diff apart with sticky tires in 2" of standing water on pavement. I wouldn't be surprised if your cousin did break your diff. I never launched my street ix hard again.

Nando has been lucky so far.

Lucky, I dunno. My front diff has like 265k on it, the CV shafts are like 300k (they need rebuilt though). Stock 300k mile getrag, and a gutless M20 stroker (from all the beating it took mostly, lol).

I've been launching mine on boost for 2 years now with over 200k on it, stock diff held just fine. I think a lot of it is maintenance and drive train shock.

Another rallyX iX here. We typically launch at least 5k rpm in the dirt- getting as much wheelspin as possible is the only hope to stay somewhat close to the powerband off the line. The car is way faster than almost all of the M2 class other than the occasional stripped and supercharged CRX. It was a front runner in SA and top 3 usually in PA.

This next season will be in Mod w/boost so it will be interesting to see how the ix fares against high power subarus and evos.

This car gets no slack in the abuse department and we've never broken anything drivetrain related, a lot of the parts are around 300k miles.
