The full lightbar will be installed shortly now that all the EMS, police and fire radios are installed along with the electronic airhorn. :) And what good is a rally car if you don't use it? :D

worth it just for the factory mudflaps ,they are like hens teeth ...... nice find and worth the price i think

It is clean all over, the alum stuff underneath is faded and has the alum flake buildup, the car feels soft (but I am used to two E46s with coilovers and an Acura TL)
the CV boots look decent, no cracks or holes
some of the suspension parts are rusty
there is some rust developing under the side skirts at the front jack points - one of my goals to work on right away is removing the iX trim to see exactly what is going on - and fix before it gets bad/worse
the battery box is near perfect
there is some wetness on the auto trans lower case (hopefully not a rear main seal or worse)
The story on the car is used in winter in Michigan I think and only used occassionally, kept clean but it is evident they didnt clean underneath as thoroughly as the exterior and interior
I'd have happily paid what you did to get a car like that, lol.

Yeah, the stock suspension is pretty soft. but, it actually works pretty well. I miss my car when it was all stock.. sometimes.
clean out the spring perches on the front strut tubes (there's a drain hole that gets blocked with dirt, and water collects in there, causing rust). it doesn't appear to have any major rust problems, whatever it could posibly have would definitely be worth fixing! :)

what really stands out for me is the engine bay - it could have been steam cleaned, but the red paint would still be faded and the aluminum would still be grimey. it all looks mint and clean. I have a theory about cars and clean engine bays. If it looks like shit, it probably is..

yea, i wasnt going to declare the price paid because there are some younger folks over on e46fan that think anything more than $3k for an E30 (except the M3) is tooooooooo much

well, you'll always hear moans and groans from the $300 beater/parts car E30 crowd - but i think it's a fair price for what looks to be a mint, low miles, all original 325ix.

I noticed on the OEM wheels the back wheels are quite tucked - so i was going to install wheel studs all-around and get spacers for the rear.
I have also ordered H&R springs and Bilstein struts/shocks already
And a few of the cars in this thread have a splitter installed. Is that an OEM part or aftermarket? I was on Abrams Motorsport website earlier and they list one but it doesnt say whether it works with OEM lower spoiler.
And, anyone switch to the Euro ellipsoids? better lighting? anyone install HIDs?
I would like to find a wheel that compliments the car - I have LMs (and CHs) on my other two cars - so I would like to find a 5 spoke, or RS, or open to ideas - I do not like Kosei's
I am Stuart btw - I am new to E30s (other than loving the iX and M3 since they were new on the market) and I am an older guy. I do all my own work on the cars
I am thinking I should go ahead and do fluid swaps - any ideas what to use? I use Motul and redline and OEM fluids on my E46s
I have just started searching my little heart out - so please dont tell me to search...I have done so much searching this week my thumb hurts and I have a headache...not to mention I need to get back to finishing the heat exchanger/intercooler install on the wagon and finish the M3 exhaust on that car so I can drive it after a full M3/custom widebody and full respray in LeMans Blue with a blue pearl added

These cars are going to be a cakewalk compared to what I've seen you do to your e46's. Hope to see your car progress.
