It's not obvious but ALL convertibles have lower rear arches and require slightly longer bumper bellows than sedan/coupes. Plastic rear bumpers would fit any convertible without a problem regardless of body type.

Since you live so far away, I'd let it all go for US$175 which includes front & rear bumpers, new rear bumper trim, 1 yr old front bumper side trim (center piece is original), front steel valence..........possibly fog lights if they haven't been sold yet........lemme know. I also have my 2yr old M-Tech 1 front spoiler, but it is pending sale locally.

Regarding fitment..........like I said before they are for the lower wheel arches on the cab so that should not be a problem with your arches. As for the back side and any gap issues with your different (or later model) valence, I have no clue.

God, that's a sweet deal. I would totally jump on that if shipping weren't so much and I didn't already have a rear plastic bumper. That, and this isn't my thread. ;)

What exactly do you mean about the "back side" and "gap issues with my valance"?

Are you referring to the front or the back?

He's referring to the late model rear valance that came as part of the car's unibody. There may be a gap on it. But, if you got something like an Mtec1 rear valance, that wouldn't matter. ;)

Eh, I'm not really into kits on E30's, especially not for a car that's going to be a track monster.

I think I'll stick with US Plastic bumpers.

I dont know if the question was answered already, I read a few posts here and there... but euro bumpers will fit an 88 or newer e30. you need the older front valence and the front euro bumper bolts right up, and than you have to find the rear euro bumper from a earlier year cabrio (possibly touring)

HAH! Thank you for that information.

Unfortunately I like the newere front valance much more and don't want to use the older one.

So does this mean the full mtech1 is do-able on the post-88 cars?
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

When you say Mtech1 - that's a good question. An mtech1 off a coupe would likely NOT fit on a post88 e30, since the rear arches are higher. if you found an mtech1 kit on an earlier cabrio - then it WOULD be possibly. But, I don't think they made any Mtech1 cabrios? (mind you, the front valance would fit on any E30, but I'm talkin sideskirts (possibly?) and the rear valance.)

They made the M-Tech 1 to fit cab's too ;)

The rear fitment of a skinny chrome bumper on any N. American E30 appears funky......Ryan experienced this gap issue when he changed from big US bumpers......and since the post '88 cars have a rear valence to fit the taller plastice bumpers, I'm sure there would be some kind of "gap" between the bottom of the rear skinny chrome bumper and the rear valance......hence a need for a rear apron.
