Thats a valid opinion. Cant be wrong. The color is not most important to you. To me it is more important. Thats what the debate was for those that can grasp it. You can definitely.
is it the color or the mismatch that woudl stand out more to you?
Its possible that you need to own a convertible to understand??? I dont know why...
Some people havent owned enough cars to understand. Some cars you can get fenders for cheaply and some you cannot. Some cars have a fender year change and the fenders are mostly the same but different just like in this case.Last edited by stamar; 03-07-2012, 02:45 PM.Leave a comment:

I would put a "vert" fender on a "vert" no matter what color. It wouldn't be "getto" because it's the right thing to do. At least sand and prime it.Last edited by cabriodster87; 03-07-2012, 02:34 PM.Leave a comment:

I did not put that fender on this car, the po did after an accidentHoly balls, wtf did you do to that fender?
No, this does in NO WAY look good, right of correct, I can see your rusty Rocker area EASILY under your to short, messed-up, painted with a used paintbrush fender.
just do it right or don't do it. you can buy an after market fender for $100 and a can of paint from any number of vendors if you must go ghetto.
or a used vert fender and the same dammed can of paint.
you needed to make a poll, and post to your own thread 5 times before anyone else did to figure this out?
*edit* I didn't even get the pic from pg1post 13 in the quote...wtf? even the internet didn't want that re-posted...
I want to REPLACE THAT FENDER. repeat that sentence. I want to replace that fender with another one. Stop. Repeat that sentence one word at a time out loud to yourself.
the car came with a mismatched fender.... ok? Lol in the wrong color. It got in an accident. I dont know that the rocker panels are rusty but that little bit is rusty.
I did a few little projects to improve it. it came tiwht the fake mtech 2 kit also that needs to be painted so I checked out what the color looks like before painting it. I never did paint it i switched to polishing the rest of the body to see the if i can match the color.
the hood will be replaced with a red hood when i find one, that doesnt need a vert. It wouldnt take long to find one but i decided to strip it off anyway and cover it with black primer.
Concentrate super hard on this. I didnt know I could get a fender from a junkyard and it would fit, or i wouldnt even have messed with painting it. But when I saw that it wasnt a vert fender I said fuck it im not even sanding this. Ill just get a non very fender from the junkyard. LIKE ANYONE WOULD DO...
Ha or wait for a non vert fender. Sort of the point of this thread would you rather have a mismatched fender of put a non vert fender on? Of course youd put a non vert fender on. Everyone who answered would lol.
Or would you actually be brain frozen, unable to put the non vert fender on, and just leave your fender in its present state for years until you found one?
I mean thats fine. What on earth have I done different than any of you would do you geniouses? I just have to laugh.
So you say, just leave the fender like that dont get a red fender from a junkyard. Raise your hand please. Which of you think thats a good idea again?
I mean have you confused yourself even? I know for a fact that most people are a lot brighter than a good chunk of the people who responded. Thats just human nature bright people dont even put to writing something they dont fully grasp.
i want to replace that fender. Do you get it? I cant believe this takes more than average IQ. If I use too many words read 325ics post. Of course use the non vert fender til you find a vert fender.Last edited by stamar; 03-07-2012, 02:41 PM.Leave a comment:

If you have a vert fender in 138 from a guy in california post it here.
I looked on forums for months and never saw one. Me personally im going to find a non vert fender in the wrong color a junk yard for about 30$. If I find a vert fender in the wrong color I guess Id trade I wouldnt buy it.
I have never even heard of a vert in a junkyard actually. I think i saw somewhere around 20 e30s in portland junkyards and never saw one vert.
If you think you can find a vert fender in red let me know.
the fender on there came with the car. I wouldnt pay to have it painted. Ill put on either fender in the right color. The vert fender is better.
I dont understand whats confusing actually. I guess its never going to compute to someone without a vert that you cant get vert fenders from a junkyard.
Meditate on this. 3 times.Leave a comment:

Holy balls, wtf did you do to that fender?lol well the person who would care macgyver
Is someone who has a vert with fender damage.
Do you think they would care what the answer is?
You can put yourself in their shoes though.
Im actually trying not to have any point, just soliciting opinions.
I had heard of people actually welding the part on from the vert fender but to me that seems overboard, its not even visible. If you put the undercoating on to match, you wouldnt be able to see a thing even at tire level ( in my opinion)
here you go.
Now on the other side, I cant tell you whether that line is there or not because its covered with undercoating. I believe it is. so u see the hole.
Anyhow you cat see a thing unless you bend over.
but because its asthetics, that could bug you more than the whole color being off. I wont speak for anyone. If it does say so.
but there you go that should give you an educated opinion.
It is different its like 1/2 to 3/4 inch off.
so here you go, you have fender damage. Do you look for one in your color that is off like this, or do you look for one in another color that is not?
it is honestly harder to find a vert fender even in the wrong color than a non vert fender in the right color but its just hypothetical.

I can't understand how you string 1 thought over 3 lines. Only use a new paragraph for a new thought.
Next, that fender doesn't fit. The it has no molding at the top of the rocker, and you can't screw in the bottom because it is 1/2 inch too short.
Yes it may look better to temporarily run a coupe fender on a vert if you got into a wreck, but why buy 2 fenders when you can just buy a used vert fender off of a forum member and paint it to match your car? you are in fucking california, i can give you the name of a guy who can drive 15 min to a junk yard, pull a fender, and ship it to you.
if you are trying to fix up a car, do it correctly the first time instead of going cheap and trying to make up excuses about why you did a half-assed job.

This guy thinks he fucking discovered the wheel because a non-vert fender "mostly" bolted on to his car.
Stop being a cheap fuck and get the CORRECT fender for your car, we don't care.Leave a comment:

Jesus Christ man. You communicate like a 13 year old 5th grader.
So everyone told you that vert fenders are different, and then you found out that they are indeed different. You claim that it is "unnoticeable" that you've got an improper fender on your car? Really? Unnoticeable?Leave a comment:
