Ah but the jams, engine bay and such....youth and very little eye for detail saddens me.

Well I'm starting to build my turbo e30 up more and more. That means I've been dropping a lot of $$$ it. I still have the two gallons of gun metal grey dip in the garage, So what I'm getting at is when I'm done with all the mods i'm going to dip my e30. If my car is the way I want it and fast, then why would I care about spending crazy money on a paint job? Will it make my car go faster? Will it make it handle better? No it wont...so when I get to it I will post pics up and before and after. Might be a few months but keep an eye out for it!Comment

I just painted my mirrors, door handles, and the vents near the wipers. If it holds up ok for a year or so I will be happy. Its so easy to reapply.
I was going to do the other trim with krylon fusion for plastic.Haven't you ever seen Russian Nesting Dolls? They work like that.

I've been considering doing this as well, even the same color.
Watch DipYourCar's videos on youtube. They had one on there with a car that had been covered in blue dip for 6 months and they were pressure washing it..paint didn't peel or anything.
Its stronger then most people think, holds up better then paint against rock chips too. My kidneys are plastidip'd black...the grills are painted black with normal paint. The grills have rock chips all over from various road trips. Only time the plastidip has had a blemish was when I took my hood off to work on my car and I slipped and hit the kidneys with the hood.
That and I've seen some done around Houston area and it looks like a wrap, would never know it was plastidip.
I'm all for it, do it and let us know how it comes out. Guy in the vid says if you spray it correctly and layer it enough, it holds up well over time.1991 318is - Daily/weekend track car.

Yeah that's what happened to me I was at a show and a kid had his e90 done black and said it was like that for 6 months already looked awesome. That's when I started to watch the "Dip your car" vids. I understand its not permanent, but all that talk about it rubs off easy, so what that means is I should avoid scraping it up against thing like you would real.............paint. I'm going to spray it with a real gun, with air, in a contained area. It should come out nice, if not oh well I can peal it off and spray it.I've been considering doing this as well, even the same color.
