You should definitely not do this to your car. Start it on an empty chassis. Why would you waste a great paint job? I guess if you don't want to go through replacing small parts on a new chassis, but if you sold yours you would come out with enough money to do it. Since you plan on replacing the m20, all you would need to do is replace the suspension on the new car, swap in a cheap is interior and swap over your vaders.

Fiberglass... not sure if I would use it on the fenders. Find someone that is good with metal work to replicate those flairs, then tack em up. If you use fiberglass just don't tie all the body panels together, one small accident and here comes a full respray.

Also, that front opening better have an intercooler behind it. I hate seeing ricers in town with the big ass opening showing off their radiator support.

I designed Diego's bumper, as already mentioned. I did the original photoshop years ago that he recently replicated.

OMFG, really? What a trip, especially with all the cross-continent bashing you guys spew...that is really funny.

Jordo, I gotta agree with Derek. I wish you had started on another body. Still, I rarely see a clunker out of you, so get to work. Most guys who think ahead so much suffer from "Analysis Paralysis"...you seem to get most of your shit done.

Do a bunch of photos on teh buildup (especailly the skirts) and I will buy a CD of "The Widebody Experience"

I see why you would say it might be better to start on another body but I'm w/ Jordan on this one. I would rather keep my original car than sell my car that I have spent countless hours on just to get a shell and start over. Its just not the same. It would make you fell better to stay w/ the same car...or at least me. I plan on keeping my car forever.

I also support the idea of finding a cheap e30 chassis and experimenting with the widebody look on that, and if you feel it comes out right, go all the way and swap in an s54, interior, suspension, whatever. If it doesn't turn out, surely you could find some BMW racer nut to buy a widebody e30 chassis and hopefully come out even. In the meantime, you've spared your current e30 and avoided any chance of regret about tearing it all apart again.

will it be done for bimmerfest? i think that's the most important question, right? cause that's what everyone doing a widebody worries about. i hope they let you park on the lot.

It's not going to look right. The E46 is much smoother in style, and I think it can get away with that kind of wide body.

BMW did the wide body right back in the 80s. If you're going to do fender flares, and have it look right, you're going to have to make some poser E30 M3 flares.

I'm usually for clashing styles, but this one won't work.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

Those flares even have very practical rain gutters.

I will only support this if you do it max-bimmer style.
