FRONT VALENCE IS ZENDER!!! STOP FILLING MY PM BOX PPL!!!
TJ, what do you use to detail with? Orbital buffer, hand, other?
I would recommend investing in a dual action orbital if you don't already have one. With the right polish, they can do amazing things with your finish.
Minzerna is great stuff that does good stuff with scratches, etc. It's really hard to tell what you're working with without seeing it in person, but I'd love to have a go at it with my buffer.
Tell ya what, if you haven't done anything with it by next June, bring it to the SE E30 Rallye at the Dragon, and I'll bring my buffer and go to town on it.
the area under my wipers looks exactly like that.. it was the only part of the car that they didn't do when it was repainted many years ago! sadly, no it can't be fixed - I've tried and tried to polish it, it comes up a little bit but you'll always be able to see it. I don't think the stock clearcoat is heavy enough, I've never had anything like that on any of the other parts of my car that were repainted.
Yeah, I'll agree with everyone that it can't be fixed. My entire car looks worse than that. I had a cut and polish professionally done a few years back and it looked fantastic for like a week. If you stay on top of waxing/polishing, you can minimize it...but I'm sure you knew that.
I need to get my IS valance and trunk spoiler. Maybe you could find a trades school around your house? I have one called Penta Career Center and they are quite good with painting auto's. The only thing you have to pay is for paint/clear, no labor involved. Might be alitte more serious with your because you want to it match the car perfect but I would recommend Penta to do anyones car. No, I didn't go to Penta just have seen their work.
i had looked into this as an option for getting my car painted, obviously not at penta, at the comunity college here, but as far as work goes, it was pretty good, but it took them 2 years to do one guys car, now he wasn't in a rush, but still i need mine, and it's not like the go to town on your car anyway, it's a project they'll use for learning and such. ie, they arent working on it 8 hrs a day...
