Didn't the race cars have the radiators back there? That's the only reason I could see for it...

Otherwise, while not my cup of tea, it takes some serious nuts to do something like that to your ride!

    Good luck!

I don't like it, but hats off for your effort. So what type of racing will this car be doing? What about your motor, any info there?

I think it would look alot better if the front fenders and side skirts were done.
That being said, looks like a nice start.

i can dig it. just as long as the body werk is straight, before painting. who cares if its not like the one pictured earlier (the model) its different. uniqueness is rarely strived for. props to you. keep us (the ones who like it) updated.

The rear vents are going to be for rear brake coolers, and possibly a remote oil cooler setup- since the front is going to be taken up by a intercooler. As for the motor, Ideally its going to be a turbo 2.7, with a turbonetics t4 (not sure the specs as of yet), racewear head studs, JE custom pistons, total seal rings, rods ????, upgraded internal hardware, port & polished head/ intake manifold, front mount intercooler, fully adjustable fuel management system with MAF conversion, possible individual throttle body setups down the road, and a electronic boost/ ignition control system. All of that is what I want ideally. But for starters I am just looking to get it up and running with a large turbo on there. My goal HP is about 350+ to the wheels. And as for the wheels, I am still not sure what I am going to run, 4 lug options are very limited. But all of this is long down the road. I still got a piss load of body work ahead of me.

                      Not only that,

If the bodywork takes such a long time,
you better not crash it otherwise your out for the next seasons fixing bodywork

                      Nice test of craftmanship tough

                      best of luck

Ummm, so far yeah. I havent really looked into a 5 lug conversion as of yet. I still have a long ways to go with the body. Thats not really one of my top concerns. I still need to get bodywork on my daily driver finished.

you'd probably need custom wheels to fill those fenders, 4 or 5 lug.

Its okay, and some people forget this is a race car. BUTTT, you arent using form or function. it would be better for you to just buy some apex clip on rear flares and some front flares, you would hae been done already, and it would look much better. and will actually be functional.

here are some photo's of what it is suposed to look like.

                              and here is a 3.0

I have been thinking the past few days and I may very well change my design of the rears completely. What you see in the picture are made out of metal + fiberglass bondo, because I wanted a perfect plug so I would have less work to do when it was time to make them out of fiberglass. I was thinking just fill in the trunk seams and making both rear quarters and trunk 1 piece of fiberglass. And then have pins or something similar holding them on so I can get at trunk space quickly. And I am going to leave the rear vents I think, but change the style, so it looks almost exactly like the 320's, with the vent coming straight out. Thanks again, and I will keep everyone posted once I start back up on this project
