your gona spend all that money on power and bodywork but not get a 5-lug swap ;)
the 5 lug swap is useless in my opinion... i considered it briefly after reading lukas's write up since i would love to be able to use the mcoupe axels and trailing arms... however after getting some more info it seems a lot easier to get custom axels made and do some reinforcing of the trailing arms

if you have a good suspension, a nice set of brakes and light wheels(all which can be had with a 4x100setup) you are better off then some one who dumped a bunch of money just to gain an extra lugnut and to have a better selection of wheels

this is just my opinion and feel free to dissagree however this is my justification of why i will never swap out of 4 lugs

i agree. the stock e30 4 lug set up offers plenty of braking if set up properly. even big brake kits are fairly priced. theres really not a great reason to do the 5 lug unless one falls in your lap.

good to hear such from someone who has 5 lug. of course you probably enjoy yours, but do not label it a necessity like some people looking at it.

Alright guys, I havent posted in about a year so I figured I would stop by and update everyone. As far as the body is concerned I just pulled my first fender out of the mold and it came out very very good. So hopefully I will have the entire car in primer by late fall. I am still working out alot of design details and trying to figure out whats going to look the cleanest. I also got Brock B1's for the car, 17x8.5 for the front and 17x10 for the rear, with 245/40's and 275/40's. I also got ground control coilovers front and rear. The rear is the conversion kit, so I also welded in reinforcements to the upper strut towers. For the motor I found a m30 out of a 89 735i. I broke it all down got a complete rebuild kit, main bearings, seals, timing chain, etc. I also bought a set of dished 8.5-1 compression pistons from mahle. So, so far so good. I am looking at putting a big turbo on it and shooting for the 350-400hp range, and The body should be completely finished buy the spring of 06. I will do my best to keep yall posted, and ill get some pics when I can. Later-Ben

I was originally thinking that you were thinking along these lines, the CLK DTM, probably one of thee most muscular and beautiful german touring cars ever, the car is on the same plane as the M3 GTR.

How did you figure that? His kit looks absolutely nothing like the CLK DTM. Or the M3 GTR.

I know it doesnt look anything like either, I meant the side vents/intakes along with the fender flares try and recreate that DTM look, I know that the M3 GTR and CLK DTM are the street versions of their bigger brothers, but their race counterparts follow the huge fender and intake formula
