i am still collecting parts at the moment but am ready to buy the rear apron. just wanted to know how this will all go together before i dish out the moniez. Where would be the best place to get the rear apron? the replicas are about 200 right?

meh i dont think the rear apron is available new from the dealer without getting the whole rear end because its one piece. i would have to get the apron and the bumper together. but then i would have to get the front bumper to match the rear bumper. then i would have to get the front valence so the front bumper dosent look silly. next thing i know im selling my left nut for a full tech 2 kit:tsk:

I got mine from eurostyle. Go to maxbimmer.com and he advertises there. Plastic bumpers and a rear apron is going to be a lot cheaper than a real mtech kit. If you can find one.

i used stainless short screws to connect my fibreglass valance to the plastic rear bumper on my 87 cabrio. the fitment of the one from california annoyed me but with trimming it fit.

jeff it was a joke. i was just making the point that the non fake mt2 rear apron isint available seperate from the rear bumper so i would have to get a replica unless i was going to get the full kit

so thats not answering my basic question. are you planning on getting the tech2 side panels/pods also, or just running front and rear valances.

                              ;)

I used a Racing Dynamics apron, bolted to bottom of bumper.

As far as plastic sliders/brackets, mountem to bumper, mock it up and eye where to drill 1/4 panel.
Bracket alouds adjustments and hole willbe hidden by bumper. so is all good.

Visualise it ... factory brackets mount first, then bumper slides onto them., backward mock will work for placing.
