The other day I found an old Thule bike rack from an old Saab 900 my pops used to have. Test fitted it on, and if I hack a couple inches off the bar... BAM free thule rack.

Not going to lie, I'm liking this more than the Yakima and Thule racks. This might be what I go for, and the wood flooring too. Looking good, how did you mount up your bike btw?

Has it started rusting yet?
Carry any loads with it?
Try a bike rack on it?

Can you provide the bar width and thickness so I can compare to a thule to see if my Rocky Mounts trays will attach?

No rust or anything, have carried all sorts of misc crap on it from coolers to a bike(on its side, I haven't got the mounts yet), no real load over about 40lbs in the cooler.

The bars are about 5/8"-3/4" or so, definitely not as big as a Thule or Yakima.
