I was just wondering why the Euro grills have a smaller opening for airflow to the radiator. The US ones are wide open, but the Euro ones have part of it blocked off. Can someone please enlighten me?

I dont see any difference in the side grilles on mine compared to the 85 eta ones. THe only difference is the center grille which is half blocked but the 318s have that so I think it has something to do with no AC or the smaller motor, usually they are 318s and 316s in europe so most euro grilles are 4banger grilles.
AFAIK the only real difference is the top slat and the hole for hte citylights.Im now E30less.

It probably won't make much of a difference either way, but I just don't get it.

It's serioulsy not that big of a deal. I've had both sets of grilles on E30's, and neither one made any noticeable difference. But you guys can placebo yourselves all you want, whatever makes you happy. :D

THE INTERNET SPREADS MISINFORMATION. THANKS FOR HELPING JOSH!
The blocking off is for non-A/C cars. Cars with A/C should not run these blocked off'ed grills for the sheer 3ur0H props.
Greg never sold the blocked off center grills for that reason.
Just use the Euro side grills. They look better. And have a city lite slot. YAY!
