I'm not planning on producing these myself, there is no why in hell i could get that underway. I was more interested in seeing if there was a company who currently or has in the past made these after market. Or maybe the possibility of one the forum sponsors taking this idea and rolling with it. I would be really excited to see a full front and rear kit available for around $500sigpic

For $1,050 a set, I'm happy to start prowling my local junkyards and organise shipping a container.Comment

Cheap bastard lol.... if you want euro bumpers, you pay for it. You can't expect everything you want for the price you want to pay, NEW.
But seriously though, buy a plastic bumper car, or convert front db to plastics...as you know front end is bolt on, $200-300.
Rear isn't so much.
There are other options out there too.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

There are other options, but they are either bad options (tuck, ary's fiberglass rear apron) , expensive and hard to find (euro bumpers, rd/pfeba rear apron), or a huge hassle (plastic bumper swap).
For all the diving board cars out there, I'm still surprised that there isn't an abs plastic rear apron at a reasonable price being produced.
Better yet, someone should start modding and selling the rear bumpers, to make it a bolt on job. Here in NY, it took me weeks of searching to put together a seat of clean plastic bumpers to mod. Someone out west with more available, and a little know how...Comment

A few additional comments:
- The ECS website has fantastic pics of all the parts in the kits.
- Check realoem too so you can see how it all goes together.
realoem front chrome eurobumper listing
realoem rear chrome eurobumper listing
- The realoem listings show part numbers for front and rear "mounting parts kits". These are still missing the end cap attachment hardware, and any additional hardware you need to cover the extra US diving board bumper holes. See TDE30's post in fporro's early model euro bumper DIY thread.
- You'll need to source metric carriage bolts from BMW or your local hardware store separately. These are the round headed bolts that attach the chrome center pieces to each other and the bumper brackets. no idea why they were missing in my ECS front kit, but if you go back to their website pics they're clearly not shown.
- If you have a vert you need to order different rear bumper end caps. They used to be NLA but I bought some this summer from Tischer / getbmwparts no issues.
- If you ever want an MT1 setup the bumper trim bits are different.Last edited by bradnic; 10-01-2013, 07:00 PM.I BUY/SELL REFURBISHED CM5907s & CM5908s

unless you're really lucky, best way forward is to buy the ECS kits. You can always replace the polcar chrome with real rechromed OEM bits in the future, but if your re-chrome guy works like mine did you'd be happier with the repro chrome.
so again, just go buy the ECS kits while they're still available.I BUY/SELL REFURBISHED CM5907s & CM5908s
