Poll: Rear diving board surround condition

I've been casually looking for non-destroyed rear bumper surrounds and from what I've seen, ALL of them are all sparkly and messed up. Does anyone have a rear surround that is still nice and smooth? The front ones seem a lot easier to come by in good shape. Maybe it's just another case of the Northeast having no good parts, we will see.

88 only...I'd rather be DB than plastic

I've heard that when it's rough and sparkly, you can sand it down with high grit sand paper and spray them with a flexible mat black paint. the roughness adheres paint well, and the finish is better than the plain plastic

Both my front and back are 'sparkly', but the rears are much worse. I tried sanding them down and applying forever black but it didn't work. It was nice for like 4 days and then went back to what it always looked like. I think I needed to sand 'em down a bit more.

Tell us how your really feel... Personally I like them when the car is clean and tastefully done. It adds a period correct level of class. But that's just me.

If you find straight ones that are sparkly just sand it off with some 600 or 800 grit and paint them. If not I know someone with gtood ones he could sell you lol
