I ordered cocomats a bit ago and they just came in yesterday. Haven't even unboxed them yet. Supposed to be pretty good?

So while waiting for the new mats to arrive, I decided to trim the e46 convertible mat I ordered. I used scissors to cut the mat around the dead pedal and a notch around the accelerator. I drilled small holes in the carpet to allow the OEM velcro clamps to attach.

I actually really like this--the e46 mats are high quality. I may take them to a carpet store to see if I can have the edges bound. In the meantime, I took a lighter to the frayed edges so things aren't peeling now.

Hey that's not bad at all.
I wouldn't look twice even with the black-on-tan.

Thanks. I actually really like black carpet on light interiors--a lot of modern BMWs do this. Tan floormats just get too dirty. I may have the main carpets dyed black at some point, and leave the rest of the interior tan.

Did you ever get the mats from Tims Classic Parts? How did they fit? Quality?

Since I am particularly, err particular... I decided to take the cut front carpet to a local home carpet store. They charged me $20 and bound the edge I cut on the floor mat. Took them 30 minutes... Voila... Perfectly fitting, OEM floormats now.

Trimmed to fit with scissors. This fits the convertible perfectly now--around the dead pedal and accelerator.

And the bound carpet. I just had them bind the edges around where the cuts were. Pretty damn good match, and the carpet won't fray now...

That does look good. I might have to order some and do the same.

I just found a source for some OEM mats. Two styles, non-velour and velour. Neither matches my new carpets, so I'll stick with the e46 ones.

The thing about those mats is they are generic looking without any "BMW" signage and no heel pad. I prefer the modded E46 mats over these.
