So I just bought the black leather sports seats for my car, problem is that the drivers side seems like its busted. When I pull the knob for it to pull up it doesn't work. I need the seat to be able to move up for me to screw in the back two screws. Any thoughts or solutions? Thanks in advance.

My first guess is that the gas "springs" in the seat are shot. Lift up on the seat while operating the control.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The slider mechanism is easy to figure out. Have a look under the seat and see why both sides aren't disengaging. Maybe the rod is missing or bent."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

If its a coupe seat tilt it forward with the release lever on the side of the seat back. If its a sedan seat lift the seat back adjustment handle and lean the seat as far forward as it will go. The 2 screws should be accessible.
If you are talking about bolting the seat down to the floor ignore this. The only "2 screws" are to hold the vinyl seat back to the frame which are the ones I was referring toSeat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

I figured out the problem. The wire to lift the seats on the right side had been cut. I was able to find away around it. Thanks a lot for all the help guys!Comment
