What do I need to install this M-Tech II Steering Wheel?

I just got this M-Tech II steering wheel, what do I need extra to install it to my E30?

Also, anyone know where to "retrim" the leather in SoCal?

E36 steering column. Looks like an e36 wheel...won't work without major mods. Sorry.

you need a 22mm socket on an extension, and your keys.

put your keys in the ignition, pop the BMW emblem off your old wheel to access the 22mm nut, undo the nut, slide the wheel off (this can be difficult be careful dont slam the wheel into your dome.) and then install the new wheel, straight.

it depends on the size diameter of the spline hole. if its off an e36 then no, it wont work as stated above.

Edit: must be e36 wheel cause of thumb cutouts

Those are E36 splines and that wheel will only fit e36/e34's. It will NOT fit an E30 in anyway.

Sorry to inform you man. Yes I am certain.

Part number shows it coming from an e31.

So from all the post, this is an E36 wheel and not have a chance to fit my E30?

Any picture of an "E30" M-Tech II wheel that I can compare?

if you're wondering if it fits, why not just try to bolt it on...You just need 1 bolt and a marker to put on a steering wheel

Looks like an E36 but as mentioned the PN shows E31 8 series. Either way, it won't fit. The backside is different.

Here's the back of an E30 wheel...

As you can see, they are very different. It's not uncommon to have people abroad (like on ebay) sell other M tech 2 wheels as E30/E28 but they won't fit. Several members have gone through the same thing as you. This is why you have to do your homework and make sure you get the right parts.
