e36 Arm Rest in a e30???

Has anyone done this, can the armrest be retrofitted or is this allot of work.

They make armrests that fit in an e30, but I hear they flimsy cupholders in them rattle. Use one of those or not at all if you ask me.

Na, I want the factory looking arm erst. I have one of the arm rest that come with the cup holder, it was in my 85 Jetta, but not the way I want to go.

Any one else out there tried this??

I think you should just go for it. It would be a better oem piece if i remember right, it would look at home in an e30, and I think its a great idea. I have never seen it but i bet it wouldnt be to hard. Buy an extra center piece for cheap and then drill, glue and cut.

Apparently it's possible. Although the plastic middle piece (the one around the hand brake) in E36 is wider than the one in E30.

On the picture, the armrest comes from E46 i think.

qimis has this in his car. the fitment has to be trimmed and played with a little but i was going to give it a shot this summer.
