    Mr Lens fog light lenses

Well, after waiting a year for no real reason, I finally installed my Mr Lens acrylic fog light lenses. They look great, and are great quality from what I can tell. I bought 40mil clear Lamin-X to put over the lenses, but I couldn't install it without getting horrible bubbles and I ended up pulling it off. I want protection on these lenses, since they are acrylic and will probably pit really easily... but oh well. They still look a 100x better than what I had.

Glass pits as well. And the new lenses were only $40, as opposed to around $140 for new fogs.

I hope you have better luck with them than I did. I replaced the lenses and installed them on a Sunday. I ended up having to re-do the driver's side lens through my own fault so I left it out. The very next day on the way home from work a small chunk of rubber (screw all you retread-using truckers! ) got kicked up by the car in front of me and wouldn't you know it, the damned thing homed in on the passenger side lens like a guided missile. *CRACK* and sure enough, my nice shiny new lens had a nice shiny new hole in it.

I put mine on last week. they do look good, but they scratch really easily. don't expect them not to pit (they are MUCH softer than glass). but at least they won't break. ;)

eventually I will buy new ones, with stonegard on them they won't pit, scratch or crack. I expect these to look good for 2-3 years though.

i can't believe you are having that much trouble w/ lamin-x. my tails are done with that (it looks okay, not perfect though) but i don't have any bubbles at all. It was quite easy to do. I know you are plenty capable, i just find it odd thats its giving you that much trouble.

did these acrylic lenses require silicone for install? I've seen some that have not had good results with silicone.

                  Looks great, TJ!

I have some lamin-x on my headlights, and you need to use some water on them and your thumbnail to help smooth out the major bubbles. You're still left with some small ones right after, but the will eventually go away from the plastic heating up and cooling off using the lights. After a week, I couldn't even tell there was a film over the lights.

How much glass did you get in your fingers is the question... :)

you can also get them from bmp if you don't trust ordering directly from a company in south africa..
