are you talkin bout the US ellpis? eventually i want to go w/ hid's so keep that in mindOriginally posted by MystikalHella H4s > Euro Ellips. The beam pattern is damn near identical, and the actual light output difference is also just about indistinguishable. They also cost about 1/5th as much, and are plug and play.///Alpinweiß II 24v 91' 318is, Alpinweiß III 99' 323i, 04' Yamaha R6 SE for sale, 00' VW GTi, 83' El Camino BURNED, 01' P71sold, 92' Miatasold

I have always heard that the euro's (smilies and non) are brighter and have a better beam than the us ellpis. And you can adjust the euro's to not blind people w/ hid's.///Alpinweiß II 24v 91' 318is, Alpinweiß III 99' 323i, 04' Yamaha R6 SE for sale, 00' VW GTi, 83' El Camino BURNED, 01' P71sold, 92' Miatasold

No kidding, H4's are underrated. They just don't look as cool as smilies.Originally posted by MystikalHella H4s > Euro Ellips. The cutoff on US ellips is completely flat, like an HID setup should be. Euro cutoff is angled upwards towards the right, you end up blinding people in the lanes ahead of you when you're passing them om the left.Originally posted by crkskylinegtrI have always heard that the euro's (smilies and non) are brighter and have a better beam than the us ellpis. but they are ugly, which is also a consideration when modifying a car. I don't regret spending $295 shipped for smoked elipse at all ;)Originally posted by MystikalHella H4s > Euro Ellips. They are ugly because they don't have a round this in the middle like the ellipsoids? At least they have flat lenses.Comment

Ugly? They're round headlights, how complex can they be?!Originally posted by nandobut they are ugly, which is also a consideration when modifying a car. I don't regret spending $295 shipped for smoked elipse at all ;)
My headlights are for lighting the road. This isn't the E46 world where flashy cosmetic rings cost more than our tires.Comment
