Personally I have noticed that my euro ellips are brighter but my US ellips keep more of the light on the road where it is useful instead of lighting up all the trees and signs on the passenger side of the road.Leave a comment:

Both have 8K
The car on the left has US elips, Car on the right has hella euro smileys

^^I did it with 6000ks. It looks nicer than ellips, ihmo, and they really light up the road, but I will never recommend that anyone do this. The cutoff just simply isn't good enough. I felt bad enough for everyone around me that I now have US ellips. Not as bright, but not as annoying either.Leave a comment:

Alright here's mine. 55w DDM 5000k Kit. It's raining again, but you get the idea on the color. Whitish more daylight color. The only time i see hints of blue is on the startup but you be the judge, color expert

I don't have my box anymore, but remember it being very bland and just reading 5000k. On the bulbs themselves it said H1.
The cheaper of the two is actually the Apexcone Raptor kit and judging by your order picture above, that's what you got. This shit: http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Ap...Raptor-HID-Kit
This is the one I got: http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W
Not sure what the difference is other than the price, but judging by the other pictures I've seen in this thread the colors vary by brand.
Btw, i got the other side done and will try and get some pictures up in a couple minutes if they turn out decent enoughLeave a comment:

I think it's more of an issue that I've worked as a video editor and know colors. What people call white with these bulbs *isn't* white at all. That and I think DMM is a bunch of ass hats - they may have sent me the wrong bulbs.
BTW - I got cheaper of the two - the DMM kit. Do you still have the box the bulbs came in? What does the outside of you's say? Mine says:
*9005/6 QC 22*
I don't thing there is any other way to tell WTF I got. I'm so annoyed with them and I haven't even called yet.Last edited by george graves; 08-21-2010, 02:12 PM.Leave a comment:

OK. Just got these ddm HID's today. I pop'ed on into one headlight and did the thing where you stand in front of the car with two hats, holding them infront of the headlights, back and forth.
OMG are the 55 watt HID's bright - and Oh boy 4500k is still blue. Crap. I really wanted to avoid dealing with those ass hats.
Do these things mellow out a bit?
Either I've gotten so use to my crappy us elips and they were worse than I thought, or 55 watts are "I'M GOING TO KILL SOMEONE" bright.
Anyone else notice this at first?
Only got one side done before it started raining so I'll post up some pictures tomorrow when I finish up.Leave a comment:
