quick update: I just got my H1 bulbs this afternoon and to make me happy they gave me two more apexcone stickers, woohoo. It took them a little over two weeks fromt he day I sent them out to get back to me, which is somewhat reasonable, as they ship via UPS ground and I am in Iowa. I just tested out the bulbs and they actually fit (they say H1 on em this time :D) ... I am planning on drilling out the caps and installing the smillies and the HIDs on Friday so I'll keep you all posted with some pictures ...

Any specific pictures you guys need??

    Cheers

Alrighty ... I am gonna pass this by you experts just to make sure that I am doing this right (pretty sure I got it down, but you never know).

So, the bulb has three connectors coming out of it, one is in green and the other pair in blue. If I understand this right, the connectors in blue are supplying power to the bulb via the ballast. Now on the other end of the connector in green, is pair of wires in red. These would be soldered to the wires in the weatherproof housing (also circled in red), thus supplying power to the Ballast once the plug of the housing is connected to power and ground, which I would do by cutting the sealed beam plug and running ground and one of the power wires to it.

I was thinking about connecting the city light while I was in there to, so I read up on a couple of threads and come people were using the extra power from the original sealed beam wiring and running that to the city light, along with ground (via tapping into the ground going to the low beam). I'd like it to come on with the parking lights, so I might just tap into the wiring for the side markers and run em that way, not sure yet.

      did I miss anything?? suggestions??

      Cheers

Yes, that's it. I understand why but I don't like the fact they route the power wires inside where the bulb area. I guess they all come like this and it works for most configurations but I cut and removed those wires from the grommet. This bypasses the need for the lowbeam connector and there's no risk of a short from having the + / - connections crammed under the cap. It's upto you.

i here ya ... thats the part that made me so confused on how the hell to wire these. I think I am going to go ahead as I described and see if it fits, if not ... then the solution is as simple as you said.

          cheers

I love it I love it ... just got the smillies in with the HId kit and it looks ballin. Only took me two hours to do the face lift and the installation. I am kind of disappointed as my driver side bulb has a slight discoloration to it (not as bright as the passenger). Anyone have this problem before with these kits??

            pics to come soon ...

My kit was like that on first startup. After I put the bulbs thru a few good heat cylces they became more similar in color.

could you elaborate on this heat cycle you speak of? :D ... any thing special or just keep the lights running for an extended period of time ...
