That looks great! Could have been a factory option.

That's a vintage unit with a tape deck?

No tape deck, but it's a reproduction of the original Frankfurt where the tape "slot" hides USB and sd card slots. The repurposed FR/FF and eject buttons are also longer to mimic the physical controls from the old radio, though these behave no differently from all the other buttons. LED color is adjustable to match the rest of the dash, though I haven't worked through all the options yet.

Ah, I see the USB and Bluetooth buttons now. Really does fit the look as long as you don't get too close.

I'd love to add a vintage deck to my E30, with a real tape player! Just need a spot to mount it (under the dash perhaps). As I'm using the standard radio spot for gauges.

Thanks for taking the time to build the file!! This is one of the first mods I did after I bought the e30! Retro Blaupunkt looks way better flush mounted!

Do you have to cut the ridge on all 4 sides of the HVAC panel?

              Hi,

Yes you do need to remove all 4 sides of the trim panel so the radio can sit into the slot. Instead of against the ridge
