I finally bit the bullet and installed a Morimoto HID setup using its own relay harness. As part of it, I installed in parallel a 50 watt 6 ohm load resistor to avoid a low beam check light; HID lamps are 35 watts.
The load resistor seems to overheat after the lights running for 15-30 minutes and the circuit triggering the low beam out light, but after works again after cooling off. The resistor is mounted on a metal surface.
Has anyone experienced this? I plan to replace the load resistor and if it still persists to upgrade the resistor to a 100 watt 6 ohm.
Appreciate your feedback/insight.
