Who knows, could be a cheap fix even out of warranty.

If you could... make a small box for a JL 6w0. Skinny but long. Bolt it to the metal under the parcel shelf and have the 6w0 fire up through one of the rear speaker holes and have the port go out the other speaker hole. 6w0's cost about $80 I believe. Box would cost you about $30-40 if you buy a whole sheet of 3/4" MDF and glue and 1 5/8" drywall screws. Then you would need something to cut out the hole for the speaker and to predrill the screw holes. So a total cost of around $120 even after installation. It wouldnt take up hardly any space at all. It could be removable too if you really had to take it out and it would sound awesome and blend well with the front stage as well.

I was always under the impression a sealed box was better for clean response than a ported box? Size is also a concern...Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.

Originally posted by Beej '86 325esI recently put somem 6 1/2" midbass speakers in the front doors, running on 150W RMS. I had the same intention as you, to get some more bass without the boominess and weight of a sub. Even though I'm running the rest of the components off of the deck, and that much power to the midbasses, I can barely even hear them. I am convinced the only other way to get bass is to put 8" subs in the rear deck or rear quarter panels.
It'll make a world of difference, my feet rattle in my shoes.
