Two dinky ports like that are gonna sound like shit. Way too little airflow, you will have massive turbulence and port noise.

Dual 3" X 18", 1.5 cubic feet net, after woofer and port displacement.

 Basically, identical to our boxes.

Nope...do a little math, that ain't even sort of close.

3.14 X radius, squared gives you surface area, right?

 So radius is a 3" is 1.5", so 1.5X1.5= 2.25 sq in, X2 = 4.5 sq in total.

 Radius on a 1.5" is .75, so .75 X .75 = .5625...so to get to 4.5 sq in total, you would need 8 1.5" tubes, 17" long

If you are really wanting to learn, get yourself a copy of "The Loudspeaker Cookbook", it is an adequate starting place to get some fundamentals down.

 LMK if i can help

Scuffed it up with some scotch bright, then made a ring out of poster board for masking and sprayed it.Last edited by AndrewBird; 11-11-2013, 07:07 PM.Comment

just get 4 of these, plenty of bang at @ 2 ohms for subs under 100$ + cost of box, that's what i am doing in my non e30.

400 rms each 800 watts max, 4 ohm dvc 8" subs for 23$ shipped

I have 2 right now in 2 bass tubes I bought on ebay for 40$ each wired at 4 ohms with a very very powerful kicker amp (2500 RMS @ 2ohm) and it bangs (I just got a good deal on it, or i would have probably have a 1200 watt sony explode class d amp), I just want louder and maybe go to a comp if one comes up and see how i do. (bought a 20 farad soundstream cap/distribution block/volt gage/blue neon night light lol) buying 0 awg cadence wire on ebay this friday (28$ for 17' ), since my amp requires a 250@ inline fuse and I currently have a 60amp on a 4 awg lol. and I need to install my 220 amp ebay alternator asap. Also will be getting a yellow top (have had great luck with them even though a lot of people I hear bash them).

I will be getting the cheap front usb jensen flip out 7" dvd touch screen also (200$ new at pc richard and sons, g/f had one and i loved it, cheap brand but works great). a lot of people say you need top dollar items but you dont.. I've had cheap and pretty loud setups for a long time.. (i've been out of the system game for a few yrs)
