so i recently picked up a stock hu and i want to swap it in with my aftermarket one. i want to have the stock appearance in the e30. can i run new wiring from the hu to all speakers? i have a 4 chan amp thats powering premium speakers in rear and aftermarket pioneers in front. would this be too difficult to do? also, is there another stock bmw radio thats newer thatll fit and looks good?

How about you start by figuring out what it is you want to end up with, and we go from there?

That would go between whatever stock deck you choose and your aftermarket amp. It gives you an amazing sound quality and a volume control for your Aux source.

I don't think you ever mentioned what amp you have (I did not read everything) but for pretty much any amp, you can wire the positive speaker lead to the center pin of an RCA, then simply ground the outer ring to chassis ground.
This generally has no noise, generally the best SQ as well.
