so i recently picked up a stock hu and i want to swap it in with my aftermarket one. i want to have the stock appearance in the e30. can i run new wiring from the hu to all speakers? i have a 4 chan amp thats powering premium speakers in rear and aftermarket pioneers in front. would this be too difficult to do? also, is there another stock bmw radio thats newer thatll fit and looks good?
going back to stock hu?

I was considering the pyle mp3 receiver. Oem style, red display, and mp3 compatible! Lastly it's around 30 around the web.

Ah sorry for the large pic! Does anyone know if another oem BMW head unit will work in an e30? I want to keep the oem style too but with modern functionality.Comment

You can use nearly any head unit in an E30, with aftermarket amp or stock amp or none at all.
How about you start by figuring out what it is you want to end up with, and we go from there?Comment

well i have a pioneer and i no longer want it after someone broke into my car and tried stealing it. its a pain bringing it into the house every time i get home. i have the stock cm5908 head unit, but i would like to perhaps use the c33 or cd34 head unit. whoever did my head unit wiring obviously didnt know how to wire one. so its been ghetto wired and there are wires everywhere. question is, can i just rerun all new wiring from one of these stock head units to my 4chan and then to each speaker?

You can do whatever you want of course, but before you do anything, go look at the Audiocontrol LC8i.
That would go between whatever stock deck you choose and your aftermarket amp. It gives you an amazing sound quality and a volume control for your Aux source.Comment

is it possible to just bypass that? couldn't i just run it straight from deck to amp to speakers? or is it not that simple?

I don't think you ever mentioned what amp you have (I did not read everything) but for pretty much any amp, you can wire the positive speaker lead to the center pin of an RCA, then simply ground the outer ring to chassis ground.
This generally has no noise, generally the best SQ as well.
