Shorted My ratchet on my starter

I shorted my ratchet on my starter on accident. Now my windows won't work, also my blower motor, heated seats and A/c button. I swapped out the k5 and k7 load relays with known working relays and checked all of my fuses none of them are blown. My windows still won't work! Is there a common ground that could be fried for all of the stuff i mentioned above?? Help!!!

Possible fried the fusable link in the trunk that is connected to the battery.

Thanks for the advice Nitro, But my battery is in the engine bay and I already have cleaned up my terminals. My ratchet shorted on the green black wire and the power cable. I got under the dash yesterday and checked the common ground next to the steering column and I couldn't find anything unusual. It's acting like all of the stuff I mentioned above are all on the same circuit.

          ^Fixed.

I would start by checking the fusable link as well.

this is why you unhook the battery before working on or near electrical connections.

Should design a switch that disconnects the Negative from the battery whenever the hood is opened. Maybe some already has? I'm guilty of leaving the battery connected when it should not be, but with no disasters fortunately. It is a habit that needs to be broken.

that sounds like a bad idea - how would you run the engine with the hood open? every time you change your oil, or check the level, your radio, clock, and DME reset?

Sounds like the ground on your starter lost connection. There are 2 small wires on the starter and if the ground is disconnected things act funny.

I am ripe with bad ideas! But like you said, battery should always be disconnected when working on or near electrical components.

Also check your engine to chassis ground from the oil pan to frame rail. Should be clean, tight, and not oily or corroded.

Ya nuked that little terminal internally inside the starter.

When it shorted, that little stud was trying to power the starter motor.

Move the black/green wire over to the other little stud, and all should be well.

                              Update!

Ok I forgot to mention(on purpose) that I was changing out my starter to a new one and I didn't disconnect the battery. Yes i know I'm an idiot and know better.

Anyways, the first starter had the problem and I thought it was something to do with the wiring since all my fuses and relays were good sooo I tore into my dash. Everything is good, Ok went and warrantied out that starter and got another one.... same Issue. So I grounded the wire to the body of my car and everything works now.

My question to all of you guys who remans starters besides Cardone? Also where could I get a starter that wont give me this problem? The first starter was from a place called Metro and the second one was from Autozone.
