    HIDs no work

Sorry for this thread guys. I checked out all the HID install guides and I am sure I am doing everything right. Still no worky. The one thing that could be holding me up are my 7.5 fuses. How ever they are not blowing. Could the stop my HIDs from working, but not blow?
I have DDM 35w thin ballast kits on both highs and lows on my '84 325e using adapter plugs for the 9006 and 9005 bulbs in my US lights.
    Ballast wiring

High beam (black to brown, red to yellow)

Low beam (black to brown, red to wires closest to black/brown)

Any help? Will installing 10amp fuses fix this?

Just wire them like I did and use 10amp fuses. Check your light fuses. If they are 7.5 amp change them.

why would you need to change your fuses?

I have read in multiple places that the ballasts draw a good amount of power on start up and that 10amp fuses handle it better.

no.. not needed. 10 amps likely won't hurt anything, but generally increasing the fuse size isn't a good idea as the wires are sized to a specific current. if you increase the fuse size too much you're just increasing the chances of wiring damage or a fire.

you won't likely blow a fuse with a stock 7.5a fuse either. if you are then it'd have to be a really poor quality ballast.

I would not recommend you change your fuse sizes ever. The 7.5A fuses should be able to handle the additional current draw from the ballast. You were blowing fuses because you found a short in the wiring.

Installing a 10A fuses increases your change of electrical fire.

I'm running 35W ballasts on my 7.5a fuses fine. My e34 had 55W ballasts on the 7.5A fuse fine.

For anyone recommending to just replace your 7.5A fuse with a 10A fuse is doing it wrong. If you blow 7.5 amp fuse, you MUST install a fused automotive relay to switch power for the ballast. Its the safest way.

                  55w and 7.5 all good

Btw ddms are crap (I knew this but needed lights) ballast crapped out month or two later. Just ordered a good quality set from the retro fit source.

I been using 7.5A. No issues so far.
I guess it would depend on the ballast type?

Well shit. I guess I can change back to my 7.5 fuses then. Cant trust the internets
As fare as DDM, yes they are generally crap. How ever, I had a set that lasted me years and on top of that I am on a strict budget and they were less then a set of good regular bulbs which seam to be around $60 most places. So I feel fine about running them. If I had a nicer car and more money I would buy more expensive shit.

Stay away from a crappy swap and you wont have issues.

Never had issues with the lights. It was the e30 light switch that had a short. Read the thread man.
