Any GOOD brands of electrical tape?

Is 3M good enough to wrap a harness in the engine bay? Ive tried stuff from wal-mart and it has like no adhesive properties compared to high end stuff.
Id love to use shrink tubing but i do not have tools to remove pins from connectors or the patience to cut wires and put on shrink tube which is unnecessary. Tired of 20 year old brittle sheath that shows wire because its brittle and broken.

3M tape is very good. I would not hesitate to use it.

Another vote for 3M checking in. 3M makes quality stuff ... All of it.

LOL. I came to say the same, I always err on the side of 3M. The bump in price is worth the quality every time I've found.

3M for sure. Get the stuff in the plastic case, "super 88" if you're going to be using it where it'll be exposed to weather.

I prefer Super33 to 88 in all applications.

However, for underhood wiring especially, I prefer to use hockey stick tape from Big 5 (or any other sporting goods store, I am sure). I think the cloth is a better choice and it seems to stick well and hod up nicely.

GL and oh yeah...have fun with that

                    ^Yup, friction tape.
When it comes off it does not make a TOTAL mess like standard electrical tape will.
And it smells like pine trees!

Heat and moisture will surely make electrical tape fail over a few years. If I was doing my engine harness, I would not wrap in electrical tape at all. it will make a huge sticky mess.

use zip ties and split wire loom, easiest, and least messy (no sticky residue to deal with)

I like the stretch and it seems to seal out moisture better

I can't STAND split wire loom. Looks tacky as hell and in no way provides a waterproof (or even resistant) covering. If anything, it will hold water, not keep it out.
