if its done properly and not in ridiculous colors it looks fine. Why does wire need a waterproof covering? That friction tape stuff from the factory can't be waterproof.

I agree 100%. Looks tacky even on GMs, and those ass clowns may as well have invented it. If I am forced to use it I wrap it in tape anyway, so it is 3X the hassle.

BTW, hockey tape is not a friction tape, it has adhesive...or at least the stuff I get does.

I use the same stuff to wrap wires and I call it all friction tape although it does have adhesive and seems to go by different names. Last roll I got at Dicks and I think it was called Bat Handle Tape :)
Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

Bat handle or Hockey Stick...same black sticky cloth stuff, I bet. I was confused, I thought friction tape was non-adhesive, and the wiki does say it is typically sticky on both sides while this stuff is not. Is yours sticky on both sides? The stock stuff I have gotten from the dealer 20 years ago was sticky on both sides, like in the wiki, that is why I prefer the stuff I get.

I use Super 33 for insulating connections and Temflex for wrapping harnesses. If you want to be a baller you can use Tesa tape for wrapping harnesses, it's what the European manufacturers use from the factory.

Yeah, that crap split wire loam is ugly and stupid... I unwound the e-tape (the tape got all sticky and nasty) and crap loam off my Corvette harness... ugh

BMW wraps their wires really nice in comparison.
