I would find out what's in there. I bet money it's a Megaqsuirt setup in there. For $645 though, that's not bad! With all my little bits and pieces, I'm going to end up spending more than that, and I'm putting it together myself.

However, that could be a MS1 setup and no MS2...

Even for MS1 one, If it is plug and play, then how do you go wrong?

I wonder if you have to power it through the main relay?

Very very true. But, I'd still prefer MS2 personally, just for better features and stuff.

Do some research. MS2 has a ridiculous amount of features and knowledge base to draw from.

So can MS 1/2 use a chip? From their site:
Do you already have a custom chip but want to tweak some settings? It's simple. Put your chip in our ECU and your car will run exactly like it did before. Only now, you can custom tune your engine to optimize its performance and efficiency! With our Windows® based tuning software, you can easily tune your car on the fly.

I was reading the manual online. You can run another Map sensor for boost, also it has switchable maps on the fly using a switch.

From what I've heard they don't use megasquirt inside it but instead use the SMT6 piggyback system. You don't get as much control as you do with a full standalone megasquirt system, and the ones I sell are around the same price(but you need extra sensors)

well the smt6 has ignition capability. There is a thread over on e30zone.co.uk about it, where somebody figured out what was actually in the miller ecu. But it has to use the stock style cpu, if you can take any old aftermarket chip and still use it in there MMS1.3 ecu.

it is a piggyback system in a motronic box and is based on the Perfect Power unit.

I think it's a great unit for people afraid of electronics (not something to be ashamed of - that's 90% of people on this board)

I can see that unit having a great advantage over a regular MS unit. Only cause the case is painted. That means its going to last a very long time.
