I am ashamed to say that I am a premature spender... I bought what I thought was a really great unit (midnight eBay goggles) prior to seeing the great reviews about the more popular choices in this thread, but have come to really regret the $35 expenditure as I am not sure what to do with it due to the instructions that came with it, which I would rate somewhere between kindling and toilet paper. I have searched and understand what wires do what in the trunk of my car, but I don't understand, based on these instructions, how to simply make my car have keyless lock and unlock without the shock of returning to my car in a parking lot and watching it burn to the ground. Again, please help...

Does anyone know if this would work for an E34? Maybe the wrong forum but figured someone may know. I just picked up a '92 525i and the door locks all lock and unlock together with the key. Just like the E30.

ATTN: for anyone who is dumb like me... :)

The system will not work when the trunk lid lock is in a certain position. I had to put the key in and play with it a few times to see where it had to be.

A better solution in my opinion is to install the unit behind the driver side kick panel inside the car. All those wires you need are in a bundle right there, plus you get the advantage of not having the receiver surrounded by steel like in the trunk. I did mine like this 1 or 2 years ago and it has worked perfectly.
