    Hard top hardware

One of the bolts to crank down my hardtop is pretty stripped. Anyone know how to replace just that part? I can barely get it on or off now.

For comparison, here's what the other side looks like:

Parts are available. Check RealOEM. You may have to replace the whole mechanism. To remove it, just rotate the castled nut counter-clockwise. I'm sure there was a BMW specific tool, but I just tapped it with a screwdriver to get it moving.

You have to replace the entire lock down assembly. I believe I paid around $100@

Take it out and file it back into shape. Maybe use a SAE wrench size a little smaller than the metric version after filing.

Just an alternative to buying a new one

I use a 7/16 box end 6-pt wrench on mine.
