    vert front seats

Are the vert front seat any different from sedans or hard top coupes ?

I was going to buy a cheap set to have redone, but curious now if i can just go with NON vert front seats ?

Ok good. I though either the frames or the seat height or something would NOT make them compatable.

You are correct - they are not identical. You can bolt coupe seats in a vert, but the height is different. Search here for other threads, and do a Google search. People use coupe seats in verts, but I think something about the fit makes them harder to adjust. Vague memory about this.

Factory convertible seats, other than the horizontal stitched appearance, differ in two ways. One, they have a limiter preventing the maximum degree of recline (which can be addressed) and two, the location of the seat back release is over 4.5" lower. If you put coupe seats into a vert, you'll notice that higher lever position conflicts somewhat with the thicker rear door card area.

good stuff, i'll be sticking to finding some vert specific seat then. was looking to find some "need to be redone seats" while I keep my current crappy ones in the car.

Any idea who's going to recover your seats? I'm in the search for an upholsterer

I dont know yet, but im super picky. So i havent found anyone i have 90% confidence in. I dont want my seats to look to stuffed, i dont want my headrest to look swollen, i dont want any loose material, ive seen some great material used but where the folds are at looks horrible. I also want thick quality stitching. I dont mind paying more, i just want the quality and pride to show in their work.

I just reupholstered my vert seats using leatherseats.com. Overall, I'm really happy with the result. It was kind of a pain, but nothing hard. The material feels really really nice.

I do believe that Cabrio seats don't slide back as far as the others due to a stop that's screwed to the track

They aren't perfect, but I'm happy with the result. Other half of back seat has a kid seat :).
