    Vinyl adhesive residue

I've changed my interior since the original was falling apart. I am changing the color completely, so the blue indigo vinyl that was covering the tonneau cover I have removed because it didn't match. I've decided to leave the tonneau just painted since I like that style. I'm having a hell of a time removing all the leftover adhesive though. Has anyone done this and have any tips or tricks?

So far I've tried microfiber cutting pads with compound on a DA polisher. Goo Gone. Bug and Tar remover hand rubbed. The current leader has been bug and tar remover, but after three hours of work, I've gone from the driver's side to just behind the rear driver's side headrest area. It's painfully slow and I'm now running into larger amounts of adhesive in the middle of the cover, so it's even slower going.

I mostly used goo gone when I redid mine this summer - it helped doing it in the sun and letting the goo gone sit on it for awhile. I also tried 90% alcohol. I found that solvent worked better in the final cleaning than the goo gone, I think it was paint prep cleaner on a cloth. I also used a plastic trim tool to scrape the softened glue off of the paint

I've had great luck removing adhesives with 3M's pinstripe and adhesive remover spray. I know there's also a smaller version in a black can, but I have this one: https://www.amazon.ca/3M-08908-Woodg.../dp/B000PENLSE

How about an adhesive removal wheel that you use with a drill?
