A thread like this would have been helpful to me when i first started surfing around here. I've figured some things out, but i'm still ignorant of exactly what some acronyms mean, like SOHC, DOHC, etc. It'd be helpful if anybody could share the meanings of the many acronyms used here.

DOHC - Dual Overhead Cam
VANOS - Variable Nockenwellen Steuerung (variable valve timing)
AFM - Air Flow Meter
ECU - Electronic Control Module
LSD - Limited Slip Differential
ICV - Idle Control Valve
