You put them right on top of where you cut your perch for reinforcement.

The thing laying infront of the coils is the one i'm talking about. SO, it just acts like a perch kinda

        Yes sir.
You don't really need it though.
And when you cut your bottom spring seat off, I recommend you weld little beads to the bottom of the perch/collar as well as the D-collar provided.

Flat spot on the D-collar faces your wheel by the way when welded on.

if the shock body is 4" shorter, that means the shaft is too. Therefore at full droop, your wheel would lose 8" compared to stock... Topping out your shocks is just as bad as bottoming them out. You'd have to be VERY low to be in an acceptable shock travel range to cut the full 4" off.

so basically you cut the strut and shorten in then weld it together. then does that d-collar provide reinforcement and used as a spring perch?

anyone have pic of this installed?

The collar the kit comes with is designed to be welded on in place of the spring perch, it clearly says this in the insturctions that come from GC.. Here is my with stock strut and welded perch.

Great thread. Now a quick question, if you were to add GC's camber plates on top of this setup, wouldn't you have even more suspension travel?

You'll gain about 16mm of bump travel with the Ground Control race plates.

I think you'll like those rates. They're a great ratio. I used a weight distribution calculator to figure mine out and I switched to 440/550 ftlb. The car feels much more balanced. I was running way too soft in the rear before compared to the fronts (375 / 425).

is that the OE spring perch just filed down?...or is that a perch supplied w/ the kit?...
I love sitting down and just driving!

                            Filed down.
You should bead weld the bottom though for support.
GC kits come with D-perches to slide on top and weld for added support.
Support is where it's at. Like a bra. This guy has his bra off though. He lives dangerous and shameless; i like him.
