Yes, I meter it from the case. There are 3 manufactures for check panel. VDO, bosch, and hella. The hella is the easier to take apart. The VDO is lot more harder and the Bosch is almost impossible without breaking the face cover. The internals design is all different, but the harness is the same for all.

Where did you buy the voltmeter that you used to do upgrade your check panel?

.28" meter from ebay.

Any idea if this could be used as an ohm meter to monitor water temps from the factor water temp sensor? It should be 0-5k ohms resistance.
