Bumpers, bumpers, bumpers!

I can get get front and rear plastic bumpers for a total of 400 and they come with the shocks and everything but I dont know wheter its too much work or not. I can prep and do light body work and spray. but i dont know what to do?

Hate to yammer on about bumpers, but...

Will a pre-'89 euro lower front valance fit a pre-'89 USDM bumper?
Or, does the euro lower valance need the euro small bumper?

Just to add:

If you have an early-bumper car and you swap over euro bumpers and you wanna do some scrounging, you can add the factory M-tech 1 kit.

I have a quick question about Euro bumpers...
I know that Euro bumpers are a direct replacement for '87 and older alluminum bumpers, but can you put the Euro bumpers onto an '88? i wasn't sure because on an '88, you can easily swap plastic bumpers, so I assumed Euro bumpers wouldn't fit.

Also, do Euro bumpers fit onto all year cabrios, or not?

you can put plastic bumpers on a pre 88' car. the front requires slight modifacation and the rear needs a little more (you need to cut the bumper so it doesn't stick out further than the wheel well, then sand/shape it so it looks smooth) so if you have the resources you can put any bumper on any car. just thought i would update a bit so someone new here doesnt lose hope on having a better looking e30.

You want to source a set of Early (pre-88) Chrome/metal European spec bumpers with mounts.
They will work with your existing lower valance, but upgrading to the euro valance is advised if you arent also including a body kit such as Mtechnic 1/Hartge/etc.

The front requires no modification whatsoever, you just need the late-model front airdam.

88+ plastic -> 88 metal bumper = no mod

For those of you who haven't found this, Jordan's
and Jason's writeups are linked below.

Eurospeed is right - in addition to a front bumper, you need
to convert the 88 or later valence/airdam if you have a pre-88
car. You may also have to hacksaw off the toe-hooks on
the front of your diving-board bumper car.

On the rear, you need to shave/dremel off the bumpers
where they go into the wheel well because they will be
too long. And you need to get yourself a rear apron from
somewhere or it will look really bad.

As far as I can tell you will also need the front and rear
shocks and hardware etc from the plastic-bumpered car.
