2.5 should be straight. The only bent shift lever is the Z3 1.9 if I remember correctly?

I'm not sure if a 91 M42 powered e30 has the huge harmonic balancer, but if it doesn't, it will be fine.

To tell, get underneath and look at the flex disc (right at the back of the tranny) If there's a huge piece of metal around the flex disc, there may be risk of contact.
yeah no i know theres no harmonic balancer, i was talking about bending the lever itself so it sits centered in the console.

Ohh, I see. Well, you could - I have never bothered though - it's not perfectly centered, but it's not really noticable to me.

              Yes, you are correct.

And to contribute-- I just rebuilt my entire shift linkage with new bushings and the Z3M shifter. Clears just fine in my 325is, and feels the same as the B&M shifter at about 1/3 the price.

It's perfect for me. Doesnt sit too low, and the throw isnt too short. It's just right.

Did you use part number 25117527254 ? Did you have to bend anything ?

Didnt bend anything. I just removed the balancer that was in the way, or I guess it would have been in the way if I had left it in place.

                    Edit-- I used the part number on Pg. 1 for the M Roadster -- 25 11 2 228 384

is it even a noticeable difference when you remove the balancer?

I havent driven mine yet since I put in the new motor/tranny etc.

I've been in cars that have had the HB removed and I couldnt tell any difference.

so I am looking at getting the shifter from the z4 3.0 from BMA

I am just making sure that I need to order the z4 3.0 ssk not the e30 one

                            thank you

The Z4 shifter works, if that is what you are asking. The standard E30 shifter feels like a truck shifter, as you already know. Dont order that one!

But, it's NOT the Z4 ssk, just the STOCK Z4 shifter- it works just like an ssk when you put it in an E30.
