No offence.. well wait, yes offence. You are an idiot.
I guess because British people pronounce some words differently than Americans do they are ignorant? Or maybe Americans are ignorant? Or maybe Australians are because they pronounce things differently?

I know it has been covered, but I have heard a number of people from other countrys (Germans, Sweeds, Fins,...) pronounce Bistein "Bilsh-tain" and not "Bil-steen,"
Is it really Bil-steen?Comment

Giubo is a contraction of "Giunti Boschi" (Italian for "Boschi Joints")
The proper pronunciation is: 'Gee-Yu-Bow'
(probably safer to stick with "flex disc")Comment

ATE is an abreviation for Alfred Teves, the guy who originally started the company, its surposed to be pronounced as if it was his initials, AT.Just a little project im working on

The correct way to pronounce it is "ee", like as in you were saying meet. Its not surposed to be pronounced as if it was a word like eh-tah, and its definately not surposed to be broken up into seperate letters, they arent initials that stand for anything.
e = Hn (Eta) = ee. eta is the name of the letter in the alphabet, not how it is represented (Hn) nor how it is surposed to be pronounced (ee). Pretty much all of you are wrong :)
In the end, who gives a toss? most normal people can get past the "incorrect" pronunciation of things because they still understand what you were talking about all the same. Seriously, words are meant to convey something, some people with nothing better to do take this way out of context.Last edited by Madhatter; 12-09-2005, 07:21 PM.Just a little project im working on

what word? ATE? hah.. "hello, id like a brake booster" yes we had one in stock but im affraid someone ate it.
The present Continental Teves AG & Co. oHG was founded by Alfred Teves in Frankfurt in 1906 under the name Alfred Teves GmbH. In 1967 the US corporation ITT Industries Inc. took over the company and in 1998 it changed hands again to become part of Continental AG, where it is part of the Continental Automotive Systems (CAS) divisionLast edited by Madhatter; 12-09-2005, 09:53 PM.Just a little project im working on
